On TrustedTrucks qualification is a compliance process carried out to ensure that a service provider is compliant to provide transport services.
For example, Carrier A has a valid European Community license, along with an insurance certificate that covers him to transport goods worth up to €1 Million. Carrier A also has a declaration that states his employees are paid the minimum wage in Germany.
Because Carrier A has the following documentation, he is eligible to provide certain transport services in Germany. So for Carrier A to work with Forwarder A, Carrier A needs to provide these documents to Forwarder A as proof of his abilities. This is where the Qualification process begins.
Qualification works in 2 simple steps
Step 1: A Carrier sends a qualification request to a forwarder OR A forwarder sends a carrier a request to view their qualifications. In this process the companies are asking for permission to view qualification documentation in order to determine if they can work together.
Step 2: The forwarder will review the carrier’s qualification documents. If everything is in order, the forwarder can accept each document and approve the carrier qualifications. If there is an error in any of the documents, the forwarder can leave a comment on the document and send a change request to the carrier. The change request can then be fulfilled by the carrier by updating their documents and sending it back to the forwarder for review. Once the Carrier has been qualified, their status will change to qualified and the next time this carrier and forwarder work together, the qualification process will not need to be done again.
